Dan Greg drives solo from Alaska to Argentina, covering 40,000 miles. A journey full of surprises as he doesn't really do much planning. Very well written. There is also a part two where it travels through Africa.

A true classic when it comes to motorcycling books. Ted Simon set off on an around the world journey setting off from the UK in 1973. Ted is a great story teller in person and on paper. A real page turner.
4. Got 2 Go
Lea Rieck
Got2Go is an amazing book by an amzing woman. It is a great story of growth. She talks you through the learning curve we all go through while overlanding for the first time.
5. Lone Rider: The First British Woman to Motorcycle Around the World
By Elspeth Beard
At age 23 Elspeth thinks it is a good idea to drive from Australia home to the UK after an architecture internship down under. A great premise for a good book and it is a great read. I found it hard to put down.

Tim Slessor
Another classic among overlanders where two guys travel from the UK to Singapore in 1955. Landrover borrowed them two brand new cars and the story takes us through uncharted territory.

This is not just any circumnavigation on a bicycle, this man has set the world record which remains unchallenged to this day. Read which obstacles he had to overcome and what it takes to accomplish such a journey.
